To secure the members fair conditions of life and services and to protect them from unfair labour practices in the trade, keeping the relations with other trade unions in the film industry, to try to standardize minimum wages and contractual remuneration, as revised from time to time. Try by all legal means to redress their grievances.

Endeavor to regulate the relations of the members among themselves and/or with their employers and to secure them fair conditions of life, service, and career. Endeavor to secure compensation for members in case of accidents under the Workmen’s Compensation Act. Provide for the members against unemployment, sickness, infirmity, old age, and death if funds permit.
Provide legal assistance to members in respect of matters arising out of or incidental to their employment if, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, it is found necessary and expedient. Cooperate and federate with other organizations in India and abroad having similar objectives. Help, in accordance with the Indian Trade Unions Act, working classes in India and outside, in the promotion of the objects mentioned in this clause.
The long journey has witnessed a tremendous growth in all spheres. The current Managing Commitee who took over the reins of administration in 2014 has ensured that members and their families are provided with various welfare benefits. In spite of not having access to any social security by way of legislation, the Union has filled the much-needed void.
